Our Program
One Program. Three Stages.
Through our unique three stage program, we give hope to incarcerated individuals for a better tomorrow and help employers explore second chance hiring with confidence.
Stage 1
Educate
Taught while in prison, our Virtues for Success™ class teaches students to harness the virtues of Wisdom, Courage, Self-control, and Justice. These four virtues help develop better logic and reasoning skills beneficial not just for landing a job (and keeping it), but for living a better life! This method stands in contrast to other training models that focus solely on right or wrong actions without examining the inner faculties that produce them.
Stage 2
Advocate
Sometime during the Virtues for Success™ class an inmate/student is assigned a Life Mentor to begin a mentoring relationship that will help guide a TRP/ student/Fellow to walk the journey from prison back into society successfully.
We work hard to find Employment Partners who recognize the value of Second Chance Hiring and our TRP Fellows. We take immense pride in vouching for our Fellows, who are now strong people of good character with a destiny and future of success awaiting them (notwithstanding their past), and connecting them with our Employment Partners for consideration for suitable long-term gainful employment opportunities.
Stage 3
Support
Our Fellows have worked hard to reach this stage, but leaving the security of the prison walls and its daily routine can be a challenging transition.
As a TRP Fellow reenters society and begins looking for employment through our Employment Partners or on their own, the Fellow may need assistance with issues like transportation, housing, and education. Although The Redemption Project’s mission focuses on the employment process, we have strategic relationships with other organizations that can assist with these reentry issues. These organizations are what we refer to as Support Partners. The Redemption Project will be there to bridge this gap between incarceration and life after prison and to make any neccessary connections that are available to us and our TRP Fellows.
