Earlier this year, The Redemption Project was introduced to members of the Minnesota Legislature and legislation, appropriating funds to The Redemption Project, is currently under consideration by the House and Senate.

The bill (which can be read HERE) has received bi-partisan support and features authors from both sides of the aisle. Authoring the bill in the Minnesota Senate is Sen. Dan Hall (R) from District 56 who shared,

"As a firm believer in redemption, I am thankful to be working on this legislation for The Redemption Project as the author in the Minnesota Senate. The results on their work provide incredible economic return on investment while also addressing Minnesota's workforce shortage and creating safer communities."

In the Minnesota House, the bill's author is Rep. Dan Wolgamott (D) of District 14B who shared,

"I'm proud to be the author of The Redemption Project legislation in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Their mission to reduce recidivism through education and meaningful employment is already showing success. Providing this kind of opportunity for incarcerated individuals upon their release makes our communities safer and offers them a real second chance. I'm excited to be a part of moving their vision forward."

The positive, bi-partisan support The Redemption Project has received, especially under the current circumstances with COVID-19, is extremely impressive. You can help us keep this momentum going by contacting your local legislators and asking them to support The Redemption Project bill.
